A Letter from Sita

This is the taste
of my childhood.

I grew up in a small town in Malaysia, where the heart of our home was the kitchen. Every Sunday, my mother and grandmother gathered around a stone mortar, grinding fresh chillies and pounding lemongrass until the house filled with aromas I still recognise the moment I walk into my own kitchen today.

There were no recipes. Everything was measured in handfuls, tasted by instinct, adjusted by feel. That’s how I learned to cook — not from a book, but from being there.

The Meaning Behind the Name

Why “SITA’S”?

SITA’S is a person’s name. It’s the name of the woman whose kitchen these recipes were born in — my mother, and her mother before her.

In Malay tradition, a name carries story. SITA’S represents more than just a brand; it’s a promise that every bottle honours the hands that shaped these flavours across generations.

It's personal. It's family. It's home.

Heritage

Malaysian Flavours,
Generations in the Making

Malaysian food is a crossroads of Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences — bold heat, fragrant herbs, deep umami. Our recipes draw directly from this tradition, using the same methods home cooks have relied on for generations.

We don't reinvent. We honour it, bottle it, and share it with your table.

How We Make It

Handmade in Small Batches
From Start to Finish

01

Sourcing

Our chillies, garlic, and shallots are sourced from trusted Australian growers and picked at peak ripeness — no warehouses, no intermediaries.

Sourcing
02

Preparation

Every ingredient is hand-sorted, hand-washed, and hand-chopped the same day it is picked. Our granite mortar has been in the family kitchen for three generations.

Preparation
03

Slow Infusion

Oil is gently heated over hours, not minutes. Temperature is monitored by eye and instinct — the aromatics release in layers, building depth that fast production cannot replicate.

Slow Infusion
04

Bottling

Poured by hand into premium glass bottles, labelled individually, and packed within 24 hours. Small batches mean every bottle is inspected before it leaves our kitchen.

Behind the Scenes

Every choice we make is a choice against the factory — from our ingredients to our methods to the people behind each bottle.

Shaking Up Tradition

Our family recipes deserved more than a dusty shelf. So we took generations of Malaysian tradition and gave it a modern shake-up. SITA’S was born in our Melbourne kitchen: bold chilli oils crafted from Australian sourced ingredients, wrapped in a brand as vibrant as the flavour inside.

We believe chilli oil should be celebrated, not hidden at the back of the pantry.

SITA'S Fusion Flavours was founded by Sita, drawing on generations of Malaysian home-cooking tradition. What started as a Melbourne kitchen project quickly grew into a Melbourne-born brand built on real ingredients, small-batch craftsmanship, and an obsession with flavour.

Our chillies, garlic, shallots, and herbs are sourced from trusted Australian growers and premium local suppliers to ensure consistency and quality in every batch.
